Editor's Note: This is your 1st known stop in Dublin & Ireland! Nathan L. was wearing a pair of our Adventure Traveler Pants when the pick-pocket made their attempt on his recent trip to Europe.

Dear Clothing Arts,

While traveling with the family in the UK and Ireland, we were probably easy targets as there were multiple distractions and signs that we were tourists. Maybe from the baggage or the fact that we were on a day tour bus.

I was wearing cargo-style pants with one cargo pocket slightly open, as I had a little gift bag I was using for trash from snacks and candy when there were no trash cans around. While in a crowded area in Dublin, there were multiple bottleneck points where people almost gave you no choice but to rub against people to get through. At one such point, after my family and I made it around a group, someone made off with my little gift bag full of trash. My wallet, phone, and passports were all secured with the zipper and button front pockets.

I am unsure how often we have been to areas where there were opportunists, as there were many announcements in Victoria Station in the London underground about pickpockets. However, I felt pretty good knowing my items were secured and I did not need to wear a cross-body bag or fanny pack.

Small groups are working together in areas with distractors that put you in a position to let your guard down, but a combination of your pants and shirts works great to prevent or deter some criminals.
