It was thought number two after deciding to make clothes. Even before the company had a name there was a need to do something for the people who touch my life each and every day. 20% of our proceeds from each shirt will be donated to the partner charity for that collection! It was only natural to associate giving back to the countries which give so much to all of us. Donating to a children's charity connected with the place where each line was inspired just made immediate sense - in fact in my mind its not just a donation, its a partnership. It is through their efforts that we can most effectively impact the people that inspire us.
Clothing Arts recently turned one year old! And we plan to be make clothes that make you think for many more years to come - impacting tens of thousands of people's lives through our clothes; through the images, through the story, or directly by the clothes themselves...
Imagine the change a western wage would bring to a mother of 4 in Phenom Penh. If all goes as planned, in 5 years or maybe sooner, we will be producing our clothes locally; actively participating in helping future generations. İn our world, it seems a t-shirt can be much more than just a few pieces of fabric, thread and pigment if you take a step back and think about what really goes into it....
